FIELD GUIDE COLLECTION

Carton sealing adhesives

Qualify the closed package under its real conditions.

Where to begin

Choose a carton-sealing adhesive around both the line and the journey after the line. The board surface, time before flap contact and time under compression are inputs to the selection. So are storage conditions and the package loads encountered during distribution. A clean-looking closure alone does not establish transport performance.

The carton-sealing guide includes a trial record that separates material, application and conditioning results. Carry the same package identifiers through each stage so a later failure can be traced to its original settings.

Choose the question you need to answer

Use Hot-Melt Adhesives for Carton Sealing: Selection and Line Trials to plan a carton trial around actual board and distribution conditions.

What to carry into an equipment or material review

Bring the actual package identifiers, the previous accepted condition and a record of the failure or change you are investigating. Label unmeasured values as unknown. Ask the responsible supplier to connect each proposed setting to the specific equipment and material combination.
